Troubleshooting
Troubleshooting stays close to the rest of the docs so recovery does not feel like a separate product. Start with the section you were already using, then move one layer deeper only if you need to.
Start with the symptom you have
- Home is empty or incomplete after first login: Go to First-run Sync and Cache and Home and Continue Watching. First action: give the initial sync and disk-backed cache time to settle, then confirm you signed into the same account you prepared.
- Continue Watching is missing items: Go to Home and Continue Watching. First action: check Trakt sign-in, the continue-watching window, and whether the title has recent progress to sync.
- Trailers do not play: Go to Trailers and Recaps and Options and Self-Hosting. First action: run the in-app YouTube trailer login and retry the same title.
- Subtitle translation is not working: Go to Subtitles and Auto-Translate. First action: confirm Subtitle Translation is enabled, the provider API key is present, and the selected provider/model/endpoint are valid, then choose a text subtitle track such as SRT, VTT, ASS, or SSA instead of a bitmap track.
- Ratings are not showing: Go to Ratings and Metadata and Details, Seasons, and Watching Flow. First action: verify your ratings provider is enabled, then refresh a known title detail page.
- Playback is poor on this device: Go to Audio Codecs and Device Advice and Playback Tuning. First action: try a lower-resolution or more compatible source before changing advanced settings.
